Lydia Navarro Roman, MD

Dr. Roman has more than 45 years of experience treating adults and geriatric patients, with particular expertise treating patients suffering from chronic diseases. During her distinguished career, Dr. Roman has achieved advanced degrees in Preventive Medicine, Public Health, Hygiene, Tropical Medicine and Epidemiology from the University of Paris as well as completing medical residencies in Clinical and Surgical Pathology and Hematopathology. In addition, Dr. Roman previously served as Director of both the Department of Clinical Laboratories at La Samaritana University Hospital and the National Program for Quality Control of Clinical Laboratories at the Colombian National Institute of Health, in Bogotá, Colombia. In addition, Dr. Roman was the founding member of the Colombian Society of Clinical Pathology. Her work in the United States includes serving on the medical faculty of Texas Tech University HSC School of Medicine as well as Fellowships in Clinical and Surgical Pathology and Hematopathology. She has contributed her work to a variety of medical journals and organized several medical missions to Africa, providing medical consultation to more than 900 widows and children in three different cities and to the entire population of a neighboring village.

Dr. Roman sees patients at the Gulfgate Clinic on Tuesdays from 8 am to 5 pm.
